Our European Anniversary Trip - Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Murren

October 6

We had a scheduled guided tour of Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Murren.  The tour could include up to 20 people but it turns out there were only five of us.  One couple was from Plano, and the single guy was from California but had done his residency in Amarillo!  The reason for this tour was the waterfall in Lauterbrunnen.

We rode the train from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen.  Once there we walked to get to the waterfall.  It was a beautiful town.

Noticed this along the way

Stabbach Falls in Lauterbrunnen

When we arrived you had to walk up a steep incline so you could view the falls better and also to go BEHIND them.  It was quite the hike up!

Behind the falls

After the falls we went to other villages, Wengen and Murren.   To get there you had to take a cable car and then a train.  Chalet like houses lined the mountains.  Everything was so green there!

I tried to capture that this vending machine had wine and cheese in it!

After a little while, we stopped for lunch.  The view was spectacular!  We had beer and pizza, which was really good!

After lunch and the tour was over, Greg and I decided to go on to Trummelbach Falls.  Words cannot describe how amazing these falls were!
