Our European Anniversary Trip - Ready - Set- GO!

Packed and ready to go!  The flight from George Bush Intercontinental Airport was scheduled to leave at 3:00, September 26.  The plan was to be there around noon to check bags, go through security (we now have TSA Precheck) and then relax.  We drove to Greg's nephew's house (which is about 20 minutes from the airport) and then he drove us to the airport and took our Jeep back to his house - we saved a lot on parking!  

Not included were our carry-ons which was 4 total.  We have a lot of baggage😁 

We were very fortunate that check-in and security went fast.  We found our way to the KLM Lounge and hung out with more comfortable chairs, plus had some snacks.  

After boarding on the first flight we were offered drinks (we chose champaign, ok, sparkling wine I guess) and a little later dinner, which was very good.  

Snack time! 

They had some good movies to choose from so I watched the latest Jurassic Park (World Dominion).  I have seen all of them!  

I tried to sleep on the plane, but unfortunately our seats were right by the engine and even ear plugs didn't help.  It was nice to be given a bag which included socks, ear plugs, sleep mask, lip balm, face moisturizer and a toothbrush.  

It seemed breakfast came too soon and I don't remember what I had, but it was good.  

We landed in Amsterdam around 7:15 am September 27.  We had to go through a passport check (both times flying there).  We got through the line fairly quickly and then we went to the KLM Lounge and hung out.  We had plenty of time as the layover was 5 hours!    The Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol) is like being in a mall, there are shops everywhere.  I could have gone wandering around, but I may have gotten lost!  

On our flight to Prague we got lunch and it was good, but I wasn't really hungry after the previous flight's dinner/breakfast.  

Landing in Prague was easy, got our luggage in a very timely manner and then located our driver to take us to the apartment.  He dropped us off, we got in the building where our apartment was located and then this is where our saga began.......
