It started out really foggy this morning but ended up being a beautiful day to go on another day trip looking for "eatsa neatsa" - Jaternice - Czech sausage. First stop was in Granger at Big B's Meat Market. Bought some there along with lunch which today was a ribeye steak, baked potato casserole, green beans and bread. It was pretty good! No place to eat inside but there was a park area across the street and it was a nice day for a picnic!
Next stop - Zabcikville at Green's Sausage House. We bought some liver sausage, which they consider the hog's head sausage, boudin and some of the best kolaches I have ever eaten! The dough was soft and not so much of it and the filling was not too sweet.
Then, we went to Westphalia to Rabroker Westphalia Market. The owner is the brother of the Rabroker that own Slovacek's in Snook. They didn't have the eatsa neatsa and the lady at the counter looked at Greg funny when he asked if they had any (like, what the heck is that!). But we did buy some summer sausage and snack sausage.
Our score!
| Two are missing, we ate them! |
Who knows where the next day trip will lead us!
